Dr. Denise L. Thanepohn, O.D.
Dr. Thanepohn practices general optometry, specializing in pediatric vision care and geriatrics. She devotes special attention to optometric continuing education for opticians, nurses, and other health care professionals in the community.

Dr. Thanepohn is a graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry.
Prior to joining Alaska Eye Care Centers in 1981, she had extensive public health and general eye care experience while serving on the
staff of a refugee camp in northern Thailand.

Dr. Patrick N. Reber, O.D.
Dr. Reber practices general optometry, with particular interest in contact lenses and sports vision. He was born in Texas and
received both his undergraduate and O.D. degrees from the
University of Houston. He is now an adjunct faculty member
of the University of Houston College of Optometry. He also
serves as clinical director of Special Olympics Opening
Eyes - Alaska.

As part of his graduate education, Dr. Reber volunteered at the Shiprock Indian Health Service in Shiprock, New Mexico.

Dr. Sheryl A. Lentfer, O.D.
"Dr. Sheryl" practices general optometry and specializes in the treatment and management of ocular diseases. She also has
clinical experience consulting patients of refractive surgery. She herself had Lasik surgery in the fall of 1997.

Born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, she graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1996, where she was involved with Head Start and inner-city home eye care programs. She joined the staff at Alaska Eye Care Centers in May of that same year.

James C Falconer Jr
Dr. "Jim Jr" is the newest Doctor to join Alaska Eye Care Center's professional staff. A recent graduate of the New England College of Optometry, he specializes in contact lenses, pediatric and geriatric optometry. Prior to practicing optometry, Dr Jim Jr completed a doctorate in biomedical imaging research at University of Texas Medical School in Houston.

Jim was born and grew up in Anchorage. His wife Kathy is a teacher, and they have two young children. He enjoys recreational sports including nordic and alpine skiing, soccer and tennis. He also likes computers and music.
